Red Food Truck at Outdoor Wedding

This is the first of my ongoing series of vendor profile blog posts, designed to give brides some ideas for their upcoming weddings. I tasted Puckett’s food at Jennifer and Brad’s wedding, and it was amazing! Click here to see photographs from Jennifer and Brad’s wedding at the Cool Springs House in Brentwood, Tenn. Read on for more information about this fun idea for catering your wedding!

Puckett’s Food Trolley

If you’re looking for fantastic Southern food for your wedding, but you also want a touch of personality and fun – and something a little unexpected – look no further than Puckett’s Food Trolley.

“Trolley Parton,” as she’s known, is a bright red food truck that prepares Puckett’s Restaurant’s famous Southern fare to order on site so the food is hot and fresh when guests are ready to be served.

“The trolley is a great way to provide your guests with variety without breaking the bank,” says Jill Begin, event director at Puckett’s Events. “Puckett’s Events and Catering offers full-service event planning and catering that is not just limited to the type of food served in the restaurants. Our menus are extensive and can be tailored to any event.”

An example of the trolley’s made-to-order menu items include cherry wood-smoked pork and chicken, burgers, fried catfish, sweet potato fries, baked beans, coleslaw, fried Oreos and assorted cobblers along with signature menu items such as brisket chimichangas and catfish tacos.

That’s just a sampling of Puckett’s many catering offerings, and the trolley has other advantages as well.

“Because we are mobile and cook the food onsite, our menu items are always the freshest,” Begin says. “Food trucks have become very popular, and Trolley Parton is a great conversational addition to weddings or any event.”

A Longtime Favorite

Puckett’s roots go back to the 1950s when it was a little grocery store in the village of Leiper’s Fork, Tenn. These days, Puckett’s is a community kitchen that has a full roster of live music playing just a few feet from your table most evenings, and authentic comfort food served in a friendly, hometown atmosphere. It’s a place where you’ll find songwriters and business moguls along with locals and even some in-the-know tourists.

Owner Andy Marshall has since added some upscale food items to the menu and expanded this popular eatery and music venue to similar spots in downtown Franklin, Nashville, and Columbia, Tenn.

Puckett’s in Franklin has received numerous awards including many Williamson County’s Sizzle Awards for Best Burger, Best Meat and Three, Best Value, Best Service, Best Caterer, Best Live Entertainment, and Best Value. It has also been voted “Best Restaurant Worth the Drive,” and “Top 100 Restaurants,” among other accolades.
