Liz and Chris designed their wedding at the Ruby in Nashville to be a fun mix of the traditional and contemporary, making each detail their own – from Liz’s custom-made lavender lace wedding dress with a birdcage veil and black diamond engagement ring to the pecan pie dessert (individual servings in jars – a family recipe), cotton centerpieces and dried lavender toss exit. It was all very personal, fun, relaxed, and so gorgeous!
The ceremony and reception took place at the Ruby in downtown Nashville, a beautiful contemporary industrial space near the Vanderbilt University campus with clean, modern lines and beautiful landscaping and natural light.
Liz’s mother, Susan Lane, made the wedding dress and put together many of the details, including the bouquets and cotton centerpieces and wreaths. Chris designed the couple’s logo, which was featured throughout the wedding, including on the pillows, lavender sachets, napkins and the lighting.
After Liz and Chris’s “first look,” – when the groom sees the bride for the first time – the wedding party took a trip to downtown Nashville for some fun photos on the pedestrian bridge with the Nashville skyline before heading back to the Ruby for the ceremony and reception.
