Custom Wedding Cakes and Custom Groom Cakes by SweetAbility Bakery

February 2, 2015

Brides-to-be! If you’re looking for a gorgeous custom wedding cake or a groom’s cake that fits your guy’s personality perfectly, you should definitely check out Chelle Baldwin’s bakery, SweetAbility, in the Sylvan Park area of Nashville.

This lady just amazes me with her talent and precision.

Here’s one wedding cake she designed and created for a couple’s wedding in January. The bride wanted an original wedding cake design with poppies, and this is the elegant final product:

The groom wanted a superhero cake, and Chelle created this unique design. Note the 3D spider web and Batman cape – so cool!:

Chelle can create just about any kind of custom cake you can imagine, and she can do it with an artistic flair that will astound you.  I know this because I – and my friends – have hired her to create cakes, and they have all been amazing.

Bakery Backstory

Chelle has worked with her hands for most of her life. Her early passion for art led to a college degree focused on furniture design and fabrication, and then to several years as a woodworker. She shifted gears 21 years ago and became a licensed massage therapist — using her hands to work out everyone’s stress. Her more recent profession — baking — has brought her full circle to creating art. Except this time, it’s edible.

Her business, SweetAbility Bakery (formerly C’s Sweets), creates everything from cake pops to candy, custom cookies and cakes for events of all kinds and sizes, from elegant wedding cakes and custom-designed groom cakes to backyard birthday party treats.

Sweet Rewards

The less visible aspect of SweetAbility is its mission – to provide fulfilling work for individuals with disabilities. Chelle believes that work should be something you enjoy that also provides for your family. Her family consists of her super-supportive husband David (an all-around nice guy and a dentist) and daughters Rosie and Aly.

Rosie has several significant disabilities, and Chelle is creating SweetAbility Bakery to be a safe place of employment for Rosie and others like her. As the bakery grows, so will the opportunity for people who are differently abled to work there – to create, to have fun and to be empowered.

Connect With Chelle

Chelle’s website is being redesigned at the moment, but you can connect with her and check out her beautiful, creative cake art on her Facebook page operating under her former business name C’s Sweets. Check it out by clicking HERE!
