Before Laura went back to work after maternity leave, she and her husband, Dan, wanted to capture some natural, unposed photographs of their baby girl and the family as a whole – and that’s exactly the kind of session that fits with my style of natural, interaction-based photography.
This couple was so amazing to work with!
To explain … During a family lifestyle session such as this, I come into your home, find the best natural light, and work within those spaces. Sometimes that means you’re on the bed with your kids, or on a floor in a corner near a window. I bring reflectors and other gear to use if necessary, and I need full range of your home. Sometimes you might think I’m a little crazy, because things are not always the way you might expect (I might be perched on a chair or balancing on the bed, for example) – but there is always a method to my madness.
Dan and Laura were completely trusting, and they gave me full range. The results are some of my favorite family lifestyle images to date.
Enjoy looking through some photographs from their session.
Dan and Laura – thank you! You were a joy to photograph, and Hazel is one lucky little girl!
