Liza and Evan came all the way from Denver, Colorado to get married in an elegant Nashville wedding ceremony in August at Church of the Assumption in Nashville, followed by a reception at Cannery ONE!
Their sunny, unseasonably cool August day was perfect, and it started with the bride and bridesmaids getting ready at the beautiful Buddeke House in Germantown, just across the street from the church. The architecture of Church of the Assumption is just stunning, and their ceremony was followed by a trolley ride to the nearby Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park for wedding party pictures, and then on to an amazing reception at Cannery ONE with delicious food from Bacon & Caviar Catering and lots of great music and dancing with DJ Lt. Dan from Lightning 100. And let me tell you, Eliza and Evan’s friends and families know how to party!
I love this special wedding detail: Evan’s ring is made from oak and ebony wood cut from a Tennessee whiskey barrel, and he gave his groomsmen Tennessee whiskeys as gifts – the perfect way to incorporate some Tennessee culture into their wedding day! Liza’s lifelong friend Clint Klipfel is also a florist, and he came to Nashville from their hometown of Portageville, Missouri, and did an amazing job on all the flowers – from the bride and bridesmaid bouquets to the duck-feather boutonnieres and gorgeous centerpieces.
The couple are just returning from their honeymoon in Italy – the first time traveling overseas for both of them. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Claus! It was such an honor to photograph your wedding-day love story!
I’ve already delivered their wedding gallery, and here are some highlights from their beautiful day.
