Happy baby, sunlight, doting parents, a funny dog, soft window light. The makings for some different and real family portraits.
This was my second time photographing this beautiful family, and I love seeing how much little Spencer has grown in a few short months! These photos showcase sweet Spencer at six months old – smiley as usual, and now sitting up on his own.
For this session, I came to the Katz family’s home to make the session easy and stress-free. Spencer gets up pretty early and is ready to go down for a morning nap soon after, so we planned our session bright and early on a weekend to catch him in a playful mood. (That’s what’s great about custom photography, by the way. These sessions are tailored to you and your family’s schedule – including babies’ naptimes!) 🙂
I took a few photos indoors, then we headed outside to take advantage of a cool morning before the heat set in. Franklin the dog was his usual outgoing and funny self, photobombing the family pics. These are some of my favorites (and theirs, too!) because Franklin likes to be the center of attention, and the pictures show him in action.
I was able to get some photos of Spencer showing off his new sitting-up skills in the shade, and then we moved indoors. I especially love the photos of Amy, Brian and Spencer together inside. These gentle black-and-white portraits are a quiet complement to the fun and colorful outdoor shots.
Take a look at some of the Katz family’s photos and Spencer’s 6-month shots. I think this family’s love and joy in their little guy and each other shines through.
I’m looking forward to the next round in October!
