1. “How do you set your family session prices?”

My prices take into account the preparation and correspondence before the session, the actual time spent on location shooting the session, the many hours spent editing the images after the session, and the value of the beautiful images that you will receive and be able to print, display, share and enjoy for a lifetime. I will typically spend 12-20 hours on each client’s session from beginning to end. Also included is my artistic ability and ongoing training required to skillfully capture the best images, along with the cost of running a photography business, including photography equipment, software, liability insurance, flash drives and packaging, web hosting, taxes, and much more. I’ve written a whole post on this topic, and you can read more by clicking HERE.

2. “I’m worried that my children won’t cooperate, and I won’t like the photos.”

If you love the photographs on my website, that’s what you can expect for your photo session. There is an element of the unknown because you are buying a product that doesn’t exist yet – but that unknown part is the beauty of it as well. We’ll prepare in advance for your session, and I have methods to help everyone – including children – relax and enjoy the process. I don’t expect children to act perfectly at all – I just want them to be themselves – and my focus is on making the session enjoyable, including games and lots of interaction, with just a little bit of posing to get things going. My family session contract also includes a satisfaction guarantee, because I’m just that confident that you will love your photos!
